Kunz Industries specializes in Roller and Wheel Reconditioning. We offer a unique hot bonding process which constitutes first stripping your roller/wheel down to its core. The cores are then cleaned and primed for a new casting of our high grade polyurethane. After a preheating, the polyurethane is cast as a liquid and allowed to harden. Depending on the application, the castings can be oversized and cut down to spec in our fully equipped machine shop, or directly cast to size. Our exclusive Ultra Grip Roller features a high coefficient of friction which is ideal for applications such as paper feeding and driving sanding belts. These rollers are produced using our top of the line polyurethane processing capabilities and a single pass process for introducing the friction augmenting grooves. Kunz developed this process over 40 years ago and no other company has it. Our single pass process engraves the grooves in a uniform, precise and speedy fashion. Kunz casts custom sized tubing, sheets, wipers and bars. All our polyurethane products are of the highest quality. We have a variety of colors, marking and non-marking, and encompass the entire range of polyurethane hardness (15A to 75D.) These items are solid polyurethane containing no cores.
In addition to our standard products, Kunz also offers the patented Raymount Dampeners. These vibration impediments are fully assembled, measure 4" x 4" x 1.5" and can hold weights from 2000 to 5000 lbs. Applications for Raymounts includes motor dampening and armor plating.
Kunz offers Mold Making services. All molds are made in house using our fully equipped machine shop. With 3 dedicated Bridgeport Mills and 2 dedicated lathes, our molds hold within a tolerance of less than 0.001". Our staff has over 50 years in mold making, and we offer a variety of fabrication materials, such as Aluminum, Carbon Steel, High Temperature Epoxy and Polyurethane.
